A smooth jaw line is attractive at any age. Sagging skin, folds, wrinkles, and color changes are often the first noticeable signs of aging, as they can affect the appearance of your jawline. If you want to turn back the clock on the aging process in the region of your neck, then a neck lift from Dr. Koger could be just what you need to dramatically improve your youthful appearance.
Incisions for a neck lift procedure may be made in the natural crease of the ears or under the chin. This depends largely on the surgical plan and if it includes adjustments to the underlying muscles.
A neck lift refers to the tightening and suspension of the muscles of the neck. This helps lessen the “bands” and sagging skin often seen under the jawline. A neck lift can assist with the creation of a well-defined jaw and neckline.
If you want to tighten the excess skin on your neck to diminish wrinkling and sagging skin, then you might be an excellent candidate for a neck lift. At Koger Cosmetic Clinic & Medspa, Dr. Koger approaches the aging neck in a delicate manner by replacing volume and gently pulling specific areas. Dr. Koger can replace volume that has been lost and eliminate the effects of gravity with a simple neck lift.
Dr. Koger understands how to evaluate the structure of your neck and face, the skin texture, color and elasticity, and during your consultation together, you and Dr. Koger can make the decision as to whether to proceed with a neck lift.
Neck lift surgery is performed on an outpatient basis. Please plan to have someone drive you home after the procedure.
A neck lift may be performed with local or general anesthesia, depending on the technique that Dr. Koger chooses.
Most patients experience minimal pain after neck lift surgery, although a certain measure of bruising and swelling is unavoidable. You may need to wear a dressing for a day or two and possibly a drainage tube, which would also be removed within 24 to 48 hours following surgery. Any sutures and staples used to close the incision are typically removed in five to 10 days following surgery.
Recovery from neck lift surgery may take two to four weeks, and you may need to rest at home for at least two weeks.
After the swelling subsides, you will see the improved contours of your neck area. Scars may have a pinkish appearance. These will turn to a color that is slightly darker than your skin and fade to some degree.
After the consultation, we discuss the cost of your neck lift so that you can prepare financially. We recommend that you review our financing options prior to the consultation.
