Cheek Enlargement in Jupiter and Palm Beach County

You may be a candidate for cheek implants if you have desire a more prominent cheek contour. Small or significantly reduced cheek tissue and cheekbone contour can be an inherited characteristic or as a result of aging. Facial asymmetry may also be corrected with cheek implants.

The intended results of cheek implants are enhanced cheek contours, greater facial balance, and improved symmetry.

The procedure is done on an outpatient basis under attended local or general anesthesia. A small incision is made under the upper lip, in the lower eyelid, or in the hairline. A biologically inert, preshaped implant is placed next to the bone, over the natural cheekbone contour. Optional incision locations are: under the upper lip above the gumline, beneath the eyelashes in the lower eyelid, in the hairline, or through a facelift incision. The appropriate incision location will be discussed during consultation. The implant will be held in place by the normal tissues that surround it.

There are usually no dressings required for this surgery. Initial swelling is usually moderate and gradually disappears over a month or two. Discomfort is mild to moderate and can be controlled with oral medications. Sutures in the mouth dissolve and do not need to be removed. Sutures under the eyelid are removed in 4 to 5 days. Sutures or staples in the scalp are removed in approximately 10 days.
